A torrid noon

Posted on May 29th, 2009 by owais : Be good, Do good owais
One friday in sultry, torrid Noon
parting away mosque after prayer
mingle into thick boisterous rabble
coarse hustle shove me on trot

Raucous treading on quagmire
hovering around billows of dust
vague glimpses of cap-heads pop out
in sluggish scuff on poor trails

Intrinsic pleasing smell of scented oils
suffuse prickly rank air scarcely sedative
dark low raunchy huts scatter densely
quaintly veiled females peek through window

shaggy looking scraggy kids
coarsely spun filthy tattered rags
peaky face frown in limp stand
longing shady nay haul up scorching noon
tedious quaver cadge voices
bumping ears constantly

Honks by long limousine
dispersed rowdy mob to rampage
broke me to moan in rankle
anguish by quaff like thirst
nay stiffling lousy stuffy atmosphere
cram me queasy and giddy to swoon

shelve to squat on parch sterile surface
sigh with gasps at length
roll gimlet eye over craggy beggars
stuff with puny,disabled,blind
fumbling flounce mob miserably
enduring savages in scalding noon
just for a penny to quench their ravenous
wide huge people but
scowl faces turning in despair
drop me to muse into
intricately impalpable irony of life
still intriguing mystery to me - RICH & POOR
